"When I was younger, my mom had me write a list of the top qualities I wanted in a husband. Attractive, smart, Godly, driven, athletic, compassionate. These were just a few of the things my 10 year old self wrote . During high school and college, anyone I dated somehow fell short of this list. It wasn't like I was sitting there checking a box whenever they fulfilled one of the qualities I was looking for or drew a line through the ones they fell short of, but looking back, no one came close to the guy I envisioned myself marrying.
A few years ago my roommate at the time was engaged to Brent's fraternity brother and told me she really wanted me to meet this guy. At the time, I don't think either of us were looking to date or be in a relationship. Today, I am humbled by how great God's plan is in my life and so blessed His plan was not the same plan I had for myself. There is no better guy I could have have chosen than Brent. God placed us in each other's lives for a reason. Brent loves me when I am completely unlovable. He challenges me in ways that has caused me to grow spiritually and emotionally. Brent is my best friend and the man I will get to spend my life with. He wholly fulfills that list of qualities I designed for my future husband." -McCarley Denton

I'm more structured and like to have a plan, she's more spontaneous. I'll say what's on my mind while she avoids confrontation. Yet through these differences, she perfectly compliments me. I could've never imagined marrying someone like McCarley. She's kind, caring, absolutely gorgeous, and pushes me every day to become a better man.
