A Look Back at 2022
2022 was packed full of learning, newness, growth, change, and adaptation for us. This was our first full year being parents and running our full time business. Although I don’t think anyone ever has it “figured out” we have spent this year finding our groove and learning to divide our time between the two loves of our lives; our sweet little dude and our love for photography and business.
It was also the year that we watched dreams of ours come to life; after years of planning and working and hoping, to see it all come together all around us (literally, ha) has been such a crazy experience. (More on that at the end of this post….)
I want to thank the photographers we have spent this year training to work beside us at weddings, our second photographers, and photobooth assistants for helping us create these photos for our clients. Y’all. Wow. We have witnessed so much and made absolute magic out of it. We couldn’t do what we do without you all, you help us in a million ways but most importantly helping us document our couples weddings and capture their memories for them. We love being able to leave weddings knowing the story was told in full, and you guys make that possible.
The biggest thank you to the people that have trusted us with telling their stories this year, and all the years before. Whether it’s a family, wedding, a tiny newborn, your proposal…we are honored to be included in and entrusted with documenting such special moments in your lives. It never ceases to amaze us that we get to be a part of these moments and bear witness to them. Our hope for every person that steps in front of our camera is that our photos can capture the way that moment felt and make your memories more vivid. The raw, real, unposed, and unpredictable moments are the ones that tell your story and every time we hold our cameras that is what we are looking for.
The images below are a tiny fraction of the photos we’ve taken throughout 2022, but they are some of the ones that speak directly to our hearts and make us fall in love with photography all over again. They’re a combination of digital + film photos, client work and our own personal photos, photos we’ve shared before and some that are being shared for the very first time.
As I mentioned earlier, this year we watched one of our wildest dreams come true. It’s been an active goal for the last 5 years, but a dream for both of us individually for as long as we can remember.
We hunted for nearly two years before finding exactly what we were looking for.
We are excited to share that we officially own our own studio!
Finally. After years of hunting, saving, planning, and working towards this we finally have a place to call our own, to create in and to service our clients in so many new ways!
We will be sharing more about the renovation process, sessions, and our plans for the studio in the new year as all the final details are coming together- the last row of lights, trim, curtains, and of course, prints on the walls!
